As we move into our third month of summery weather we hope you have enjoyed a lovely May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Ours has included the amazing Blanchland Artisan Market in the square of historic and much photographed Blanchland. A first for some while ….. it was really cold! That didn’t stop the dedicated Mucklers and we are delighted to have returned with under two boxes of beer. We’ll be back in Blanchland in August and excited already.

Early April saw us joining a charity walk for Daft As A Brush and completing the 14 mile stretch between Haydon Bridge and Corbridge. The organising team from Haltwhistle Medical Group have this weekend completed the whole charity walk which involves walking from the source of the North Tyne to Hexham, the source of the South Tyne to Hexham and then continuing from Hexham to Tynemouth. Their Sundays for most of this year have been dedicated to this feat and over £3,000 raised. They are amazing.

In The Brewery

Back on home turf and back to work; we are shortly to start brewing in preparation for the Corbridge Beer and Cider Festival with four of our beers selected for the marquee: Muckle Magic light ale, Whin Sill Blonde, Stanegate IPA and Kings Crag APA. We’d be delighted to see you there over the long weekend of Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th June.
Counting as a day out in May will be a Muckle trip to the Solway Coast for a small market at the seaside village of Allonby. It’s just an hours drive from Muckle HQ and gives Nicola the opportunity to visit her childhood haunts. As a teenager she recalls spending school holidays working as a particularly poor waitress in a couple of the hotels there! Thankfully, for the visiting day trippers, those hotels no longer exist and her waitressing days are well gone.
